Lyrics
He was the kind of man who made an impression, when he did a thing, he did it all the way.
He was the kind of man who never met a stranger. John’s legacy still grows today.
Now you might think I’m talking ‘bout his business, or his grandkids – 2 boys, 1 girl.
You might think I mean the houses he built, or his friends around the world.
But no-oh-oh – this is planted in rows - lots of rows!
Blue-oo…. Berries!
And they pick ‘em on Monday, sort ‘em on Tuesday
Wash ‘em on Wednesday, dry ‘em on Thursday
Bake ‘em on Friday, eat ‘em on Saturday.
Sunday’s a day for rest. Then do it all over again.
He married his college sweetheart; both of their hearts were true
The years went by in the blink of an eye as years often want to do
Barbeques, birthdays, graduations, anniversaries
A house on a lake and their share of heartache
And their very own organic nursery
Filled with hundreds and hundreds of blueberries!
They would pick ‘em on Monday, sort ‘em on Tuesday
Wash ‘em on Wednesday, dry ‘em on Thursday
Bake ‘em on Friday, eat ‘em on Saturday.
Sunday’s a day for rest. Then do it all over again.
His wife now runs the business, takes the grandkids to the lake
Goes to visit John in his final resting place, leaving blueberry muffins in her wake.
And one chore that John left her is pure joy,
Oh boy…. Blue… berries!
And they pick ‘em on Monday, sort ‘em on Tuesday
Wash ‘em on Wednesday, dry ‘em on Thursday
Bake ‘em on Friday, eat ‘em on Saturday.
Sunday’s a day for rest. Then do it all over again.
He was the kind of man who made an impression. When he did a thing, he did it all the way.
